My biggest strength as an investor is something I believe everyone has, which is the ability to have an open mind. Below I share five books that have shaped me into the investor I am today, each book has a different investment style, and I have taken something from each to make my method. These are also books I enjoy rereading because I always learn something new after each passage.
If you are a new investor or one with plenty of years under your belt, remember that there is something someone else can teach you.
1) The Neatest Little Guide To Stock Market Investing by Jason Kelly
The first book I read this a great intro to learn about fundamentals, technicals, some of the top investors, and different investment strategies.
2) One Up On Wall Street by Peter Lynch
This book showed me that one of my superpowers and edge in the market is to use what I know and to focus on companies I understand. For those reasons, I mainly invest in semiconductor and gaming companies and have some form of concentration in positions.
3) 100-Baggers by Christopher Mayer
The introduction to growth stocks! The book showed me that even a small position in a heavy growth company could make considerable returns to a portfolio. Selling these multi-baggers can be the most significant loss I might experience in my portfolio.
4) Guide to Analysing Companies by Bob Vause
I had minimal financial literacy education, and this book was my 101 course on how to read financial statements and analyze the data. I still pick it up to take a refresh course. The best $15 spend instead of paying $1,000+ on a college course.
5) Warren Buffett And The Interpretation of Financial Statements by Mary Buffett
After I understood how to read financial statements, I wanted to see how one of the greatest interpreted that information. The book is also a good read even if you are still new, but I got the most information after reading book #4.
